SUMMARY:The Four Seasons” bi Vivaldi\, Performance by Solisti Aquilani
DESCRIPTION:Saturday May 25th\, at 6.00 pm\, in the Boatswain hall\, the I Solisti Aquilani and Daniele Orlando\, violin\, will perform in the concert “Le Quattro Stagioni” by Antonio Vivaldi. “A New Season – A. Vivaldi\, The Four Seasons” is the great success of the I Solisti Aquilani project and Daniele Orlando who has just reached 3 million plays on Spotify. The artistic project\, sponsored by the European Parliament and the T.E.S. (Ecological Solidarity Transition)\, born from the need to reflect and make people reflect on the role of Man within the Environment\, thus offering the public an interpretative key that goes beyond a traditional execution. \nUnusually for the period\, Vivaldi published the concerti with accompanying sonnets (possibly written by the composer himself) that elucidated what it was in the spirit of each season that his music was intended to evoke. The concerti therefore stand as one of the earliest and most detailed examples of what would come to be called program music —i.e.\, music with a narrative element. Vivaldi took great pains to relate his music to the texts of the poems\, translating the poetic lines themselves directly into the music on the page. For example\, in the middle section of the Spring concerto\, where the goatherd sleeps\, his barking dog can be heard in the viola section. The music is elsewhere similarly evocative of other natural sounds. Vivaldi separated each concerto into three movements (fast–slow–fast)\, and\, likewise\, each linked sonnet into three sections. \nAfter the official presentation at the European Parliament in Brussels and the Chamber of Deputies of Rome\, on May 25th “A New Season – A. Vivaldi\, The Four Seasons” arrives in the suggestive Boatswain Hall of the Castle of Santa Severa. It’s an exceptional concert with free admission\, anticipated by the screening of the short film “Una Nuova Stagione”\, inspired by this visionary interpretation of Antonio Vivaldi’s masterpiece. \nFree admission subject to availability with reservations required\, writing name and surname at: info@promu.it \n

SUMMARY:Tempest by William Shakespeare
DESCRIPTION:The Teatro dell’Orologio company in a show by Leonardo Ferrari Carissimi \nThe Tempest is a play by William Shakespeare\, probably written in 1610–1611\, and thought to be one of the last plays that Shakespeare wrote alone. After the first scene\, which takes place on a ship at sea during a tempest\, the rest of the story is set on a remote island\, where the sorcerer Prospero\, a complex and contradictory character\, lives with his daughter Miranda\, and his two servants — Caliban\, a savage monster figure\, and Ariel\, an airy spirit. The play contains music and songs that evoke the spirit of enchantment on the island. It explores many themes including magic\, betrayal\, revenge\, and family. In act four\, a wedding masque serves as a play-within-the play\, and contributes spectacle\, allegory\, and elevated language. Though The Tempest is listed in the First Folio as the first of Shakespeare’s comedies\, it deals with both tragic and comic themes\, and modern criticism has created a category of romance for this and others of Shakespeare’s late plays. The Tempest has been subjected to varied interpretations—from those that see it as a fable of art and creation\, with Prospero representing Shakespeare\, and Prospero’s renunciation of magic signaling Shakespeare’s farewell to the stage\, to interpretations that consider it an allegory of European man colonizing foreign lands. \nTour dates: \nFriday\, may 24th  \nSaturday\, May 25th  \nSaturday\, June 1st  \nAll replicas will start at 20.30. The tower\, called Saracen in modern times\, appears today in its definitive form\, assumed in the 16th century following restoration and embellishment interventions by the preceptor Bernardino Cirillo\, when access was assured by the only wooden bridge that connected it to the Fortress and a small door corresponding to the current one\, which could only be reached from below with a wooden staircase. Inside there are three overlapping circular rooms connected by a modern spiral staircase. From the top you can enjoy a wonderful panorama that sweeps along the coast from Fiumicino to Santa Marinella and inland on the whole castle up to the Monti della Tolfa and Cerveteri. Much information on its history and its armament are preserved in the “Museum of the Castle of Santa Severa” inside the Fortress. Appointment at the ticket office of the Castle of Santa Severa.

SUMMARY:Tango\, beyond dance: Conference And Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Appointment in the Sala del Nostromo on 3 March from 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm\, with free admission while seats last for a day dedicated to the famous Argentine dance. The program includes the conference “The tango beyond dance\, a collective expression of a social need” by Nicola Viceconti\, accompanied by the performance of the dancers Bruna Mandolino and Alberto Multari. After the conference: inauguration of the 3D exhibition “Encontrando. The tango as a meeting “by the artists Philippe Antonello and Stefano Montesi\, curated by Gaia Camanni and Vanja Corà. The exhibition\, under the patronage of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Italy\, will be hosted in the Pyrgi hall and can be visited until March 17\, included in the entrance ticket to the museum complex. The depth offered by the 3D photographic image manages to return both the space traversed by the subjects\, and the minimal but fundamental distance that distances them; and the very essence of 3D appears symbolic: the final effect is in fact the result of two images taken synchronously\, but from two slightly different points of view.

DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, November 11th\, in the Piazzale delle Barrozze\, from 11.00 to 13.00 will take place an event of re-enactment by the medieval dance company “I Vireali” returning to the castle by proposing a repertoire inspired by the reconstruction of dances taken from texts of the period from the XIII at the XV century. In the High Middle Ages the dance of the nobles was still very similar to that of the peasants\, as a particular expression of the ritual feasts of the population. In the XIV century we find some typical types of dance such as saltarello\, virelai\, carola\, farandola\, estampida. The medieval dances were simple\, based on rhythmic steps and repeated figures\, performed in a circle or in a row: they are the carols (in a circle) and making them (in a row) where all the people take each other’s hands. The Vireali\, which gives the name to the company\, is assumed to be a dance combined with texts on courtly love and was configured as a courtship dance danced by the couple. Some believe that the term virelai means the music of Vire (that is\, Norman music)\, rather than derives from the verb virer which means to twist and therefore hypothesize a reconstruction of the dance basing it on the alternating change of the front. In reality the origin of the virelai is unknown and rather its characteristic lies in the structure of the song.
