DESCRIPTION:The new edition of “La Città Incantata – quinto Meeting Internazionale dei disegnatori che salvano il mondo” will be inaugurated on Friday June 28th\, three days dedicated to the world of comics and animation\, promoted by Regione Lazio-ABC Special Projects with LAZIOcrea and the artistic direction of Luca Raffaelli. \nThe first novelty of this year is the Castle of Santa Severa\, a space of Regione Lazio and managed by LAZIOcrea\, overlooking the sea and suspended between legend and reality\, which will host the event with a rich program of meetings\, reviews\, screenings\, exhibitions and workshops\, all with free admission. \nThis magical place will be inhabited by animators\, designers\, cartoonists\, illustrators\, street artists and visual artists\, who will meet the public to tell their work\, style\, techniques\, and creativity. \nThe second novelty is the dedication to the Superheroes. Debate on the use of walls that divide peoples and cultures”\, an event that will involve authors of animated films\, comics and journalists. \nA part of the program will be dedicated to exclusive close encounters\, “Meetings with”: Gabriele Pennacchioli\, Rita Petruccioli\, Konstantin Komardin\, Konstantin Bronzit\, ZeroCalcare. \nThe “Differences meet” return with international guests\, direct comparisons between authors of different professional worlds (animators\, directors\, cartoonists\, illustrators) who will show the public how ideas could be realized with different techniques\, styles and methods. \nSpace for young artists with a 24-hour marathon of young designers and cartoonists to tell their story in 24 tables\, with the participation of students from the Comics schools and academies. \nThe four previous editions\, which took place from 2015 to 2018\, hosted more than 150 meetings\, 13 exhibitions\, over 340 screenings of short films and animated films\, over 200 national and international artists with film premieres and great guests. \nWe are waiting for you! \n

SUMMARY:The Saint On The Broom
DESCRIPTION:In perfect harmony with the popular belief that wants the so-called “night witches” on the night of Saint John\, on Saturday 22 June one of the most amusing and picturesque theatrical jewels designed by Luigi Magni will be staged at 7.00 pm and 9.30 pm\, the comedy “LA SANTA SULLA SCOPA” with ANNACHIARA MANTOVANI and ELEONORA PARIANTE preceded at 19.00 by a post-afternoon preparation aimed at involving tourists and the public visiting the manor. \nThe theatrical event will be hosted in the piazzale della Rocca\, the courtyard of the castle of Santa Severa\, a space of Regione Lazio and managed by LAZIOcrea in collaboration with the Municipality of Santa Marinella and Coopculture. \nPerformed for the first time at the Teatro della Cometa in Rome in 1986 according to the strict guidelines of Magni himself\, the comedy\, directed today by Eleonora Pariante\, enjoys a scenic staging faithful to the original one even in the choice of Nando Citarella as performer of the musical parts written by the same Magni as well as pieces of popular tradition sung and played. \nAs often happens with the works of Magni\, a historical anecdote\, or probably such\, moves the ranks of the work and so\, in the middle of a humid summer night\, under the watchful eye of the white big angels of Ponte Castello and the peremptory resounding of the touches of a sixteenth-century Rome made up of alleys\, small squares and fountains\, the witch Silvestra\, incarcerated and close to the stake\, gets a meeting with the nun Apollonia so that she\, having listened to her\, intercedes with the Pope and obtains in extremis grace and release. \nThe reason for their meeting becomes the perfect opportunity for the author to revisit rituals\, rituals and beliefs\, rumours and truths about witchcraft skilfully juggling anecdotes\, documents\, testimonials appropriately set and revisited in order to accompany the incredulous spectator along a path in-depth study of one of the most intriguing phenomena of the last millennium. \nThe strong weaving of immediate dialogues makes use of the great mimicry of Pariante herself\, a bewitching interpreter of the role of the witch\, and of that continuously changing of energetic Annachiara Mantovani in the role of the Saint\, assisted by interludes linked to the most ancient of musical traditions\, important and effective ingredient to the conquest of the spectator already captured by the rediscovery of the Romanesque vernacular so loved by the author. \nLA SANTA SULLA SCOPA is certainly the theatrical cameo of this skilful contemporary screenwriter and writer\, author of authentic masterpieces of the big screen such as “In the name of the pope king”\, “In the year of the Lord”\, “In the name of the sovereign people”\, “Secondo Ponzio Pilato”\,”Tosca” just to mention those most known by the public thanks to the participation of cinematographers such as Nino Manfredi\, Alberto Sordi\, Gigi Proietti\, Monica Vitti\, Vittorio Gassman\, Aldo Fabrizi\, Franco Nero\, Ninetto Davoli\, Claudia Cardinals. \nThe representation obtained the patronage of the Cultural Association Gigi e Lucia Magni and the staging is in collaboration with Associazione Culturale Genta Rosselli and MARA FUX distribuzioni. \nTicket cost: \nReduced ticket: guys up to 17 years old and groups € 15.00 required booking by calling 3384279858 \nFull cost € 18.00 \nDirected by Eleonora Pariante \nMusics by Nando Citarella \nScenography by Manuela Barbato \nCostumes by Francesca Staccioli

SUMMARY:The Four Seasons” bi Vivaldi\, Performance by Solisti Aquilani
DESCRIPTION:Saturday May 25th\, at 6.00 pm\, in the Boatswain hall\, the I Solisti Aquilani and Daniele Orlando\, violin\, will perform in the concert “Le Quattro Stagioni” by Antonio Vivaldi. “A New Season – A. Vivaldi\, The Four Seasons” is the great success of the I Solisti Aquilani project and Daniele Orlando who has just reached 3 million plays on Spotify. The artistic project\, sponsored by the European Parliament and the T.E.S. (Ecological Solidarity Transition)\, born from the need to reflect and make people reflect on the role of Man within the Environment\, thus offering the public an interpretative key that goes beyond a traditional execution. \nUnusually for the period\, Vivaldi published the concerti with accompanying sonnets (possibly written by the composer himself) that elucidated what it was in the spirit of each season that his music was intended to evoke. The concerti therefore stand as one of the earliest and most detailed examples of what would come to be called program music —i.e.\, music with a narrative element. Vivaldi took great pains to relate his music to the texts of the poems\, translating the poetic lines themselves directly into the music on the page. For example\, in the middle section of the Spring concerto\, where the goatherd sleeps\, his barking dog can be heard in the viola section. The music is elsewhere similarly evocative of other natural sounds. Vivaldi separated each concerto into three movements (fast–slow–fast)\, and\, likewise\, each linked sonnet into three sections. \nAfter the official presentation at the European Parliament in Brussels and the Chamber of Deputies of Rome\, on May 25th “A New Season – A. Vivaldi\, The Four Seasons” arrives in the suggestive Boatswain Hall of the Castle of Santa Severa. It’s an exceptional concert with free admission\, anticipated by the screening of the short film “Una Nuova Stagione”\, inspired by this visionary interpretation of Antonio Vivaldi’s masterpiece. \nFree admission subject to availability with reservations required\, writing name and surname at: info@promu.it \n

SUMMARY:Tempest by William Shakespeare
DESCRIPTION:The Teatro dell’Orologio company in a show by Leonardo Ferrari Carissimi \nThe Tempest is a play by William Shakespeare\, probably written in 1610–1611\, and thought to be one of the last plays that Shakespeare wrote alone. After the first scene\, which takes place on a ship at sea during a tempest\, the rest of the story is set on a remote island\, where the sorcerer Prospero\, a complex and contradictory character\, lives with his daughter Miranda\, and his two servants — Caliban\, a savage monster figure\, and Ariel\, an airy spirit. The play contains music and songs that evoke the spirit of enchantment on the island. It explores many themes including magic\, betrayal\, revenge\, and family. In act four\, a wedding masque serves as a play-within-the play\, and contributes spectacle\, allegory\, and elevated language. Though The Tempest is listed in the First Folio as the first of Shakespeare’s comedies\, it deals with both tragic and comic themes\, and modern criticism has created a category of romance for this and others of Shakespeare’s late plays. The Tempest has been subjected to varied interpretations—from those that see it as a fable of art and creation\, with Prospero representing Shakespeare\, and Prospero’s renunciation of magic signaling Shakespeare’s farewell to the stage\, to interpretations that consider it an allegory of European man colonizing foreign lands. \nTour dates: \nFriday\, may 24th  \nSaturday\, May 25th  \nSaturday\, June 1st  \nAll replicas will start at 20.30. Organized by CoopCulture. \nVisit to the tall cylindrical tower built in the early Middle Ages\, perhaps as early as in the 9th century\, with the function of sighting and controlling the underlying port canal. The tower\, called Saracen in modern times\, appears today in its definitive form\, assumed in the 16th century following restoration and embellishment interventions by the preceptor Bernardino Cirillo\, when access was assured by the only wooden bridge that connected it to the Fortress and a small door corresponding to the current one\, which could only be reached from below with a wooden staircase. Inside there are three overlapping circular rooms connected by a modern spiral staircase. From the top you can enjoy a wonderful panorama that sweeps along the coast from Fiumicino to Santa Marinella and inland on the whole castle up to the Monti della Tolfa and Cerveteri. Much information on its history and its armament are preserved in the “Museum of the Castle of Santa Severa” inside the Fortress. Appointment at the ticket office of the Castle of Santa Severa.

SUMMARY:HASEKURA TSUNENAGA Conference on the History of an Unusual Traveler
DESCRIPTION:On March 7th at 10 am in the Nostromo Hall there will be a conference on the figure of the samurai Hasekura Tsunenaga\, the first Japanese ambassador in Europe to the Holy See\, who stayed in Santa Severa in the year 1615\, during the Papacy of Paul V. \nIn a historical period in which we witness the journeys of discovery to the East and the European missionaries arrive in Asia to spread the Teaching\, Tsunenaga comes to Rome\, in these lands kissed by the sea and is converted to Catholicism. Moreover\, in the context of cultural relations between the Italian State and the Japanese Empire\, the members of the Bunshin Bunkyo Musical Cultural Association of Ishikawa Prefecture will be hosted for a rehearsal of the Mozart Requiem in the ETHNO version in which\, to the execution of the original movements of the famous Mozart opera\, it alternates performances of traditional Japanese music with original instruments. \n  \nFree admission while seats last.

SUMMARY:Tango\, beyond dance: Conference And Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:Appointment in the Sala del Nostromo on 3 March from 3.30 pm to 5.00 pm\, with free admission while seats last for a day dedicated to the famous Argentine dance. The program includes the conference “The tango beyond dance\, a collective expression of a social need” by Nicola Viceconti\, accompanied by the performance of the dancers Bruna Mandolino and Alberto Multari. After the conference: inauguration of the 3D exhibition “Encontrando. The tango as a meeting “by the artists Philippe Antonello and Stefano Montesi\, curated by Gaia Camanni and Vanja Corà. The exhibition\, under the patronage of the Embassy of the Argentine Republic in Italy\, will be hosted in the Pyrgi hall and can be visited until March 17\, included in the entrance ticket to the museum complex. The depth offered by the 3D photographic image manages to return both the space traversed by the subjects\, and the minimal but fundamental distance that distances them; and the very essence of 3D appears symbolic: the final effect is in fact the result of two images taken synchronously\, but from two slightly different points of view.
