SUMMARY:April 29th begins the concert season with the "Matinées at the Castle"
DESCRIPTION:  \n“Hommage à John Williams”\nSunday\, April 29th at 11.30\, the first concert of the five events with the great music in the picturesque setting of Santa Severa’s Castle\n \nAfter the highly appreciated concert review “Castello Armonico”\, completed last January\, organized by the Massimo Freccia Association in collaboration with Regione Lazio\, LAZIOcrea\, MIBACT\, Coopculture and the Municipality of Santa Marinella\, the Massimo Freccia Youth Orchestra will kick off the “Matinées at the Castle“\, a festival full of truly unmissable musical events\, a kaleidoscope of cultural and artistic moments of great quality with proposals ranging from the Johann Sebastian Bach Concertos to the most important soundtracks by John Williams\, from the Stabat Mater by Giavanni Battista Pergolesi at the Canti del Golfo di Napoli by Renzo Rossellini as well as a concert dedicated to the immortal Ouverture by Gioacchino Rossini and Giuseppe Verdi. \nAt the inaugural concert\, the Massimo Freccia Youth Orchestra conducted by Massimo Bacci will pay homage to John Williams\, one of the greatest and universally recognized composers of soundtracks; the full suite of Star Wars\, ET\, Indiana Jones and Harry Potter will be performed. The young OgMF Junior will also join. \n“Stimulated by the excellent public response of the previous series of concerts – underlines the Artistic Director Massimo Bacci – with the Matinées at the Castle we propose a very varied billboard that I hope will catalyze the attention of the fans. This new concert festival is part of a targeted program that\, in addition to the opportunity to live together the emotions that transmit the great masterpieces\, gives the opportunity for further growth to many young concertists who make up the OgMF\, an orchestral team that is always more affirming in the Italian music scene\, an uncommon example of interaction between generations of musicians inspired and strongly desired by the great conductor Maestro Massimo Freccia“. \n  \nThe next events: Sunday May 13th and May 20th\, June 3rd and June 10th\, at 11:30 am at the Castle of Santa Severa.

SUMMARY:VIA|VIA CRUCIS VIA TERRA | VIA MARE | VIA CASA | VIA STORIA
DESCRIPTION:From March 25th to April 15th 2018> the exhibition is extended until April 25th 2018\nInauguration March 25 h. 11 \n\n\nTo Khaled al-Asaad\, guardian of beauty \n\n\nAn exhibition-event that focuses on the theme of migration faced in terms of human emergency\, before politics\, seen from the eyes of those who suffer the need and absolves the duty that feels stronger: Must Go Away. \n\nA work born from the synergy of Guido Orsini and Marcello Tagliente: the shots by Orsini reveal the different moments and conditions of a long journey ‘via’ the sea; the words of Tagliente tell the story of the forced navigators. \n\nSo that visual histories alternate with the rhythm of the poems and describe the travail of a detachment and the supreme hope that accompanies it: to survive. Mourning is in the abandonment of affections\, colors\, arts and crafts\, materials and tools; panoramas and landscapes built by generations of men. The abandonment of the roots of one’s own history\, of the depths of a cult.\nOf every beauty that belongs to the terrapropria (ownland\, translator’s note). \n\n\nThat beauty that the duty of departure transforms into a mournful memory that waits for becoming sacred\, while present\, but divine\, is the possibility of survival and instinct silently pronounces the most powerful of promises: Go Home. \nThe time of these deep emotions is in the photographic installations by Guido Orsini\, in the words of Marcello Tagliente\, in the sound of the waves of the Mare Nostrum. In the vivid memory of Khaled al-Asaad to whom this exhibition is dedicated. \nGUIDO ORSINI\nFrom 1967 to 1972 he attended the State Art Institute of Rome 2 and began his personal research in the field of graphic designing books\, covers\, symbols. From 1974 to 1994 he worked as a role teacher\, architectural design and modeling\, at the State Art Institute in Civitavecchia (from 1974 to 1985) and at the State Art Institute of Rome 2 (since 1985 to 1994). Since 1990 he began his research in the photographic field with experimentation and use of new techniques and alternative materials\, positive films of large format\, experimentation with toner and toning. From the beginning he is interested in exploring the relationship between photography\, graphics and painting. His works are part of public and private collections. \n\n\n\n\nMARCELLO TAGLIENTE\nComing from Puglia\, he lives in Rome where he works as an archaeologist at the Directorate General of Museums of the Ministry of Heritage and Cultural Activities and Tourism. He has promoted in Europe and in the world\, with exhibitions and conferences\, the knowledge of the ancient cultures of Italy and of the relationships with the other people settled in the Mediterranean basin. His poems are published in Italy\, France and Belgium. In his professional and poetic experience he promoted initiatives in Europe\, the Maghreb and Palestine that would promote\, in the name of peace\, dialogue between people of different cultures and religions. \n\n\nEVENTS RELATED TO THE EXHIBITION\n \nSunday\, March 25th h. 11.30\nPerformance of readings by Marcello Tagliente\, taken from his latest book “I sogni dei bambini di Siria. Voci e storie del  Mediterraneo”. Musical accompaniment by conductor Alessandro D’Alessandro. \n\n\n\n\nSunday\, April 8th h. 11.30\nLive performance by Stefano Saletti and Yasemin Sannino\, songs and music of the Mediterranean tradition. \n\n\nFriday\, Aprile 13th h. 10\nLuca Attanasio meets the students of the schools of the area.\nOn this day the children can give a toy to their secret friend who lives in Syria. \nSunday\, Aprile 15th h. 11.30\nMeeting with the author Luca Attanasio. SUMMARY:Giapponizzati. Racconti di un viaggio di moda
DESCRIPTION:“Giapponizzati. Racconti di un viaggio di moda” (“Japanized. Stories of a fashion journey”\, translator’s note) for the first time an important exhibition traces the influence that Japanese culture hadon Italian fashion and more. The exhibition-event\, under the aegis of Regione Lazio and the President Nicola Zingaretti\, LAZIOcrea and with the contribution of the Department of Education\, Research\, School\, University and Tourism led by Vice President Massimiliano Smeriglio\, will be hosted from October 26th 2017 to January 15th 2018 at the prestigious rooms\, just restored\, of Santa Severa’s Castle\, a few steps from Rome. \nThe union between the theme of the exhibition and the Castle – today the Museum – is revealed with the force of evidence\, by creating the ideal scenography. The exhibition\, curated by Stefano Dominella\, narrates not only the complex phenomenon that has been the “japanization”\, but also the interweaving of different cultures that have given rise to socio-economic\, political and cultural phenomena. \n“Giapponizzati. Racconti di un viaggio di moda” is based on the journey of Hasekura Tsunenaga\, the first Japanese samurai-ambassador\, emblematic figure and vassal converted to Christianity who\, in 1615\, arrived in Italy wearing sumptuous Indian drapes and Roman hats\, symbolizing how fashion manages to cross any border. The ambassador was housed in the castle of Santa Severa\, a short distance from the Roman port of Civitavecchia\, an important theatre for cultural exchanges. Hasekura Tsunenaga left Ishinomaki (Japan) in 1613 and was sent to Rome to meet Pope Paul V. This journey represents the only diplomatic and political response\, during the years of the great navigations\, of East Asia to the West. The diplomatic relations between Italy and Japan\, which arose out of necessity of a commercial nature\, then continued positively in the following decades and had enviable cultural consequences. Fashion tells history\, contamination\, culture. The story is read on the dressed body. Japanese exoticism has been a topic of great inspiration in literature\, music\, theatre\, art and fashion. In the early 1900s a widespread passion for Japan and its culture broke out in Europe and in Italy\, japanism was born. Female fashion changed drastically\, preferring larger garments with a strong oriental imprint\, volumes\, rigid fabrics\, overlays\, made of different fabrics and colors\, but harmonious\, reflecting the seasons and moods: creations inspired by kimonos. At the same time\, after a period of great closure\, Japan was inspired by the West\, to such an extent that even women began to wear\, as an alternative to the kimono\, European dresses and be called moga (modern girls). A bilateral contamination where the tradition of a culture becomes the transgression of the other without compromising its elegance. Following the rhythm of the story\, “Giapponizzati. Racconti di un viaggio di moda” retraces the sequence of styles and different periods\, between revival and contemporary. The exhibit shows garments created by well-known designers\, emerging designers\, tailors and international guests who have interpreted the theme of Japan in various ways. Here on display\, set up as works of art\, ancient Japanese kimonos\, obi\, hakama\, coming from important private collections. \nAmong the 40 present creations: Antonio Marras\, Gattinoni\, Comme des Garçons\, Maurizio Galante\, Issey Miyake\, Yohji Yamamoto. Among the young designers: Tiziano Guardini (winner of the Green Carpet Awards)\, Italo Marseglia\, Ivan Donev\, Santo Costanzo\, Alessandra Giannetti\, Silvia Giovanardi\, Tommaso Fux. In addition\, also brands between art and fashion like NOH (Anna Rotella in collaboration with the artists Marco Carac and Fabio Truffa) and Dedalus Art (the artist Marco Carac in collaboration with the designer Anna Rotella). A tribute to the great theatre with astonishing costumes from the historical archives of the Teatro dell’Opera di Roma and Annamode. The setting of the exhibition\, in addition to authentic rugs and fabrics of the Land of the Rising Sun\, will be enriched by the sculptures inspired by the Manga created by the artist Federico Paris. \n  \nFree entrance inauguration\nThe exhibition is open from Tuesdays to Fridays from 9.30 to 16\nSaturdays\, Sundays and holidays from 10.30 to 17 hours\nwith the entrance ticket of the Castle: full: € 8.00 reduced: € 6.00 \nthe ticket office closes an hour earlier
