Literary Presentation and Tasting: “At Table with the Ancient Romans”

Sunday, November 18, from 11.00 to 13.00, in the Sala della Legnaia, a literary presentation of the book “At the table with the ancient Romans” written by the historical writer, Giorgio Franchetti. At the end a tasting of some “Roman” dishes reconstructed on the basis of ancient recipes from the “archi-chef” Cristina Conte.
Many curiosities and discoveries about the evolution of food and nutrition, how and what the ancient Romans ate; they were defined by Plautus, who lived between the second half of the 3rd and the beginning of the 2nd century BC. “Polenta eaters” because spelled polenta was omnipresent in the meals typical of our ancestors.
